Now the series shifts to Connecticut, where Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner look to take advantage of their home crowd to upset the second-best team in the league. This series features the top two in MVP voting this season with Breanna Stewart winning and Thomas finishing in second place. Both teams will lean on their MVP candidates to pick up a pivotal game three win today, that will put either Connecticut or New York just one game away from the WNBA Finals.

Stewart struggled to start Game 2 after winning her second MVP trophy finishing the game strong with 11 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and five blocked shots.
In the first half, Stewart was 0-5 from the field with four points and five rebounds, then in the second half the MVP finished 3-8 from the field with seven points, six rebounds and four assists.
Connecticut got a monster game from Tiffany Hayes with her playoff career-high of 30 points while Bonner added in 19 points. The team did not shoot as well from the field and will need more from Rebecca Allen (six points) and Natisha Hiedeman (zero points).
